Tour guide does not speak English well
We were expecting the same tour guide we had from Nice Our tour guide had a hard time speaking in English and we could barely understand her Though the wine tasting was a good suggestion since most shops in Port-Grimaud was closed and there was nothing to do Tour guide picked us up late.
Highly enjoyable experience
Visited St. Tropez which in part has retained its charm of once being a simple fishing village, despite the streets scattered with brand name clothing and perfumes. Due to a 30 min delay (a nearby road accident, and we were helpfully informed of the likely delay) in our pick up, traffic from Nice to St Tropez was busy and hence on the advise of our guide (Nicholas Kolesnikoff - who had an excellent sense of humour and spoke and understood English very well ), we did not stop at Port Grimaud, however we did drive past and one could see some buildings on the man-made(?) islands in the river estuary. In St. Tropez we had approx 2.5hrs to stroll the streets, have lunch and/or simply people watch. A very attractive area of the cote d’azur. I highly recommend Livenup, the office administration was good, and while the tour cost looks expensive, with over a 170mile round trip and noting we were on tour for just over 8.5hrs, it was fair value. The scenery is also fabulous, in my opinion similar to the Amalfi coast and Adriatic areas. Thank you (Nicholas and Livenup) for a memorable experience.
260 euro taxi ride
Tour company called the night before and changed departure by one hour later...after a two and a half hour drive to St. Tropez (never stopped at Port-Grimaud) we were dropped off to shop and eat..... By the time we got there, the market was closed (one of the main attractions in Nice for many of us who booked this tour). The worst part was the driver who drove like a mad person....weaving in and out of traffic, speeding, and texting on the telephone at the same time. A very very expensive cab ride---no explanation whatsoever on why we never visited Port-Grimaud....feeling pretty ripped off at this point, as did everyone else on the tour
